Anyone buying a used car wants certainty about the vehicle’s mileage. Unfortunately, odometer fraud is still a common problem, especially with imported vehicles. For someone trying to verify a used car before purchase, it can therefore be difficult to review this information in advance.
Even so, these digital records can be crucial when investigating possible odometer fraud. That is why it is wise not to rely solely on a paper service booklet, but also to request digital maintenance records, invoices, and dealer history whenever possible.
The more independent sources confirm the same mileage readings, the more trustworthy the vehicle’s history becomes.
