Porsche maintenance information

Porsche digital service history explained

Many modern Porsche vehicles may have maintenance information recorded digitally. Porsche explains that digital maintenance history can be viewed in the My Porsche app for selected models and model years. It is described as a record of completed service actions, where available through the official Porsche route.

This does not mean that every Porsche has a complete digital service history. Older 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Panamera or classic Porsche vehicles may still rely on paper service books, invoices, Porsche Centre documents and specialist workshop records. For Porsche Classic vehicles, provenance and documentation can be especially important, but the evidence may be spread across paper files and previous owners.

Available Porsche service history may include service visits, maintenance dates, mileage readings, workshop entries, inspections, maintenance operations and service interval information. It may help show whether the car has been maintained consistently. It may also show gaps where no digital entry was returned for a period.

Availability depends on model, production year, market, servicing location and digital registrations. A Taycan, 992-generation 911 or newer Cayenne may have a different digital record profile from an older 997, 987 Cayman or imported Macan. Work done outside an authorised Porsche Centre may appear only if it was digitally recorded and included in the available returned data.

Use the report as one part of the evidence. Compare returned records with invoices, service book stamps, Porsche Centre documents, inspection reports, seller statements and the current vehicle condition. For electric Porsche vehicles, do not treat a maintenance history report as a battery health certificate.

Official owner information is available through Porsche digital maintenance history, My Porsche App, Porsche Service and Porsche Classic.

Recorded visits

A returned entry may show a Porsche service visit, date, mileage and maintenance event.

My Porsche context

Owner app functions may show maintenance history, appointments and vehicle status where supported.

Classic evidence

Older Porsche vehicles often need invoices, stamped books and specialist records beside digital data.

Report scope

What a Porsche service history may include

VehiclePass focuses on available Porsche maintenance history connected to the VIN. It is not a complete vehicle history report, not a battery health certificate and not a full VIN decoder.

Information type May appear in the report? How to use it
Service dates Yes, where available Use returned dates to build the maintenance timeline.
Mileage Yes, where recorded Compare service mileage with the current odometer.
Workshop entries Yes, where supplied See whether a Porsche workshop visit was recorded.
Maintenance operations Yes, if included Review the work described for a returned service event.
Inspection records Sometimes Inspection detail depends on the available data.
Service intervals Sometimes Use interval information with Porsche owner documents.
Digital service gaps Yes, by absence A gap means no available digital entry was returned for that period.
Accident history No Accident and damage checks require separate sources.
Ownership history No The report does not identify previous owners.
VIN decoding Limited The main purpose is Porsche service history.

Model coverage

Porsche models commonly checked

Porsche service history requests often involve the 911, 718 Cayman, 718 Boxster, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and Taycan. Performance-focused checks may include the Cayman GT4, 911 Turbo, 911 GT3 and 911 Carrera.

Collector and specialist Porsche searches can include the 918 Spyder and older 911 generations. A model name does not confirm that digital records are available. A classic Porsche may have a detailed paper file, while a newer Taycan or 911 may have My Porsche app context.

Results depend on the VIN, production year, market, servicing route and digital registrations. Always compare returned records with the documents supplied by the seller.

Before purchase or resale

Why Porsche service history matters

A used Porsche is often bought with more attention to condition, provenance and long-term value than an ordinary used car. Service history helps you understand how the vehicle was maintained before you buy, sell or import it.

For buyers, returned records can be compared with the advert, invoices, inspection reports and current mileage. Dates should follow a sensible order. Mileage readings should normally rise over time. Maintenance should make sense for the model, usage and service intervals.

For sellers, a clear PDF can support the documents already held. For importers, a Porsche VIN service history check can help show whether useful maintenance information is available before registration or resale. This can be important when paperwork is from another country or when the car has passed through several owners.

Missing maintenance deserves careful review. A gap may mean the car was serviced outside a digital route, that an entry was not shared, or that paper evidence exists elsewhere. For Porsche vehicles, documented maintenance can also support confidence and resale value.

Use the report together with a physical inspection, specialist pre-purchase inspection, vehicle documents and mileage checks. Our guides to odometer fraud warning signs and digital service history for imported cars explain why service mileage and import paperwork should be reviewed together.

Brand context

Volkswagen Group and Porsche service records

Porsche is part of the Volkswagen Group. Audi, Volkswagen, Škoda, SEAT, Cupra, Bentley and Lamborghini also belong to the same wider group. This does not mean that service history is stored or returned in the same way for every brand.

A Porsche 911, Audi RS model, Volkswagen Golf and Bentley Continental can each have different workshop processes, owner services and record availability. Always check the VIN and the documents for the specific vehicle.

For wider context, read our guide to the Digital Service Record and our overview of which car brands use a Digital Service Register. You can also compare with Audi service history, Volkswagen service history, Škoda service history and SEAT service history.

For Porsche owners

Porsche owner or used-car buyer?

A Porsche owner may already have access to some maintenance information through official Porsche channels. Depending on the country and vehicle, this may include My Porsche, authorised Porsche Centres and official Porsche service centres.

Porsche describes digital maintenance history in the My Porsche app for selected models and model years. Porsche also offers service appointment functions and Smart Service notifications where supported. Access and detail can vary by account, model, market and service records.

This owner access is not the same as a public record. Someone buying a used Porsche usually cannot access the previous owner’s Porsche account or private Porsche Centre records before purchase.

For buyers and importers

A buyer usually needs separate evidence

Ask the seller for invoices, stamped service book pages, Porsche Centre documents, specialist inspection reports and any official Porsche documents they can provide.

VehiclePass helps buyers, sellers and importers request available maintenance information before purchasing a used Porsche. It is independent from Porsche and does not replace official Porsche owner support.

Clear and independent

Independent Porsche service history check

VehiclePass is an independent service and is not affiliated with Porsche. It does not provide access to a My Porsche account, Porsche Centre account, official Porsche system or private service-centre file.

The request is based on the VIN. Where data is available, VehiclePass presents returned maintenance information in a PDF report. The report is focused on service records, workshop entries, mileage at service and maintenance history. If no data is found, the payment is refunded.

Good to know

My Porsche is an official Porsche owner service. VehiclePass is a separate independent report service for available maintenance data.

Maintenance records

Not a Porsche VIN decoder or accident report

A VIN decoder usually identifies specifications, equipment or production details. This Porsche service history check has a narrower purpose: available maintenance records linked to the VIN.

The report does not include accident history, damage records, theft records, ownership history or battery health. It also does not replace an independent mechanical inspection.
